Old and new students heard a preliminary English translation of the second mind essence — “The Xiaman Most Excellent Oceanic Mind-Essence” — of the Supreme and Unsurpassable Mahamudra of Liberation (SAUMOL) as transmitted by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III in San Diego today at the Eye of Buddha Store at 4247 Park Blvd. Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche explained the origins and importance of this great work and how it is available in seven types of dharma practices at different levels from those who have received the highest Jingxing or State Practice initiation through various levels of tantric initiation to those who have not received any initiation or have a guru or master or have even taken refuge. This is a dharma that can benefit and is available to all sincere seekers on a spiritual path, Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike.
The rinpoche also explained how in addition to the seven types of dharma practice to accomplish great holiness contained in the SAUMOL, there is also a dharma that enables rebirth in one of the three good realms through empowerment. This would include the heavenly realms, the asura realm, and the human realm. CLICK for more on such a dharma.
Everyone present was so enthusiastic about learning more that it was decided to continue the class with the other available mind essence — “The Most Excellent Enlightenment Emptiness-Practice Oceanic Mind-Essence” — on July 13 and 14 at the same location from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm both days.
Another similar class was held in Rosemead at the Amitabha Temple of Compassion and Wisdom at 7940 Garvey Avenue and will likewise be continued on July 12, starting at 10:00 am and going as long as needed.
