Hong Kong One-Day Meditation Retreats

Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche gave the refuge vows to 22 new students on December 11 and conducted two one-day meditation retreats at the Good Fortune & Wisdom Charity Fund on December 12 & 13 and also held interviews and transmitted dharma on those days and the day after. This included a special refuge ceremony held for the Liberation of the Animals where people brought their pets to take refuge and receive blessings that was held on Monday evening, December 14.

This was the first time that many of the Hong Kong students had tried an intensive meditation retreat. Although it was difficult for many of them, many said they would like to try it again and maybe even try a longer retreat like was just held in Thailand–or maybe even come to Sanger, California, to do a longer retreat at the Holy Vajrasana Temple & Retreat Center. It is estimated that approximately 400 people attended the two day retreats and the special refuge ceremony on Monday.

Zhaxi Zhuoma also read a preliminary English translation of a discourse given by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III on The Trip to the East Coast (USA) in 2008 on Saturday night and answered questions after the last meditation session on Sunday. Click for more photos.
