Gesang Suolang gave the following statement concerning her experience at the Kuan Yin Bodhisattva Great Compassion Empowerment Dharma Assembly held in Clovis California on January 8, 2017:
“I came to a seven day retreat at the Holy Vajrasana Temple from my home town of Salt Lake City, Utah. After the completion of the retreat, the Abbot of the Temple, Zhaxi Zhuoma, conducted a Kuan Yin Empowerment Ceremony in the nearby town of Clovis, CA. I was part of the crew of people who helped set up the altar. The altar space was smoothly put together and looked very beautiful with freshly blooming flowers, ripe, colorful fruits and rich-looking fabrics. Many people arrived to receive blessings and empowerments from Kuan Yin Bodhisattva. After making offerings, we stood in our places and the ceremony began with prostrations, chanting and the beseechings of Zhaxi Zhuoma for the Great Bodhisattva to come and empower us.”
“Even before the final instructions were given to us participants, I felt that Kuan Yin Bodhisattva had already come to empower us when I felt a delightful breeze blow over me. I held my eyes closed and was feeling very happy, enjoying the sounds of the people around me experiencing the blessings and directions of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva. I could especially hear the voice of one dharma sister singing the name of Kuan Yin Bodhisattva and the Six Syllable Heart Mantra over and over. After a while, this dharma sister came near me and started pounding on my back with her fists and also hitting my sides and legs. I believe she was being skillfully guided by the Bodhisattva because my lungs felt suddenly clearer. They had been quite congested for a long time and earlier that week I‘d thought I might be developing bronchitis. After the dharma sister finished my treatment, I felt nauseous and had to sit down. I think body toxins must have been released that made my stomach queasy and also made my body perspire. Kuan Yin Bodhisattva helped me very much. I offer my thanks and homage to the greatly compassionate Mahasattva Kuan Yin.”
