[Chinese: 虛空藏菩薩 Xūkōngzàng Púsà; Japanese: Kokūzō; Korean: 허공장, Tibetan: ནམ་མཁའི་སྙིང་པོ། Namkha’i Nyingpo] is a Bodhisattva who is associated with the great element (mahābhūta) of space (ākāśa). This Bodhisattva is popular with Shingon Budddhists, an esoteric sect in Japan and artists. Chanting his mantra is believed to give rise to wisdom and creativity, and dispel ignorance.
